Date: January 8th, 2001
Status: Public - Adam and Brian
Setting: Brian's room and the bar
Summary: Just innocently checking in...

While Pepper was talking to Wensley, Adam decided to seek out Brian, just as he'd promised. So he headed to the room diagonally across from his own and knocked lightly on the door. "Brian?"

Lately Brian had been indulging his talent for the fugue state. He sat comfortably embedded in a small tower of socks, plucking idy at his guitar. When it wasn't plugged in, its sound was twinky and silvery and unobtrusive. Sometimes it was good to not be noticed.

"Yeah?" he called to the knock that startled him out of his very quiet attempt at "Kashmir."

[identity profile] muddy-blues.livejournal.com 2007-06-26 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh hi, Adam." Brian only briefly interrupted his disconsolate plucking. "Yeah, I just buy new ones when they start to get too stiff."

"Well...I was goin' to pitch 'em, just haven't got around to it."

He wasn't playing terribly well any more. Distracted. Adam had to have a reason for being here - wasn't often he came around just to hang out these days.

Usually, Brian preferred the cheap stuff, but didn't feel like admitting that to Adam right now. He just nursed his thick and viscous stout with a certain pleasure. It'd put hair on his chest. Not that he needed more.

What Adam said next was the obvious thing to say, but Brian didn't see it coming fast enough to ward off the flinch.

"Yeah. Guess so," he said a little bitterly, wiping at his foam moustache. "Someday."

[identity profile] muddy-blues.livejournal.com 2007-07-04 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Brian was so preoccupied with covering his wince that it took him a second to register what Adam had said.

"Wait a minute...you an' Pep? What now??"

Luna walked slowly into the bar, deep in thought, while around her ankles gambolled ... a footstool? Pausing in mid-walk, she reached down to scratch between what passed for its ears, and a tassel on the footstool wagged appreciatively in the manner of puppies everywhere.

[identity profile] radishesncorks.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Luna looked up, slightly bemused. "Oh dear. I'm sorry about this, but Obliviate!"

Wanted to tidy up some grammar.

[identity profile] radishesncorks.livejournal.com 2007-07-24 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh. You are a wizard as well, then? I couldn't quite tell." There was something a little off about Adam whenever she tried to read him (not that Luna would call it actively reading him - she just did it as a matter-of-fact), and she hadn't been able to see if Adam was indeed a wizard or not. Adam's friend - Brian - was definitely a Muggle, though, so she thought that she'd better not take chances.

"It's a nice footstool, isn't it?" said Luna. She bent down to lift it up in her arms. "Its name is Fido." There was a muffled sound, like a short bark coming from some distance away.

"Hi Luna," Brian said, waving and barely registering the footstool.

[identity profile] radishesncorks.livejournal.com 2007-07-24 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Hi, Brian." Maybe her carrying the footstool in her arms (http://community.livejournal.com/neutral_omens/135341.html?thread=2890669#t2890669) would make it more obvious to Brian.

[identity profile] muddy-blues.livejournal.com 2007-07-29 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
"That's, er, quite a footstool you got there," he said. He supposed he'd seen stranger things, knowing Adam for so long. "Does it do tricks?"

[identity profile] radishesncorks.livejournal.com 2007-07-29 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"He plays dead," said Luna seriously. "And sometimes, when I'm working, he accompanies me." If she had known more about the Muggle world, she probably would have agreed that it was akin to the relationship Sui had with Steve Irwin.

Ordinarily when he walked into a bar there was a sudden scramble for whatever snacks or food were present, only to find that they'd all run out or gone bad while no one was looking. He'd resigned himself to the rules for this place, though, and was unsurprised when it didn't happen. He did, however, pause in surprise when he saw Adam and Brian, he was still slightly uneasy around the young Antichrist's friends. He gave Adam a respectful nod as he continued into the bar. "Hello."

[identity profile] -moonylupin-.livejournal.com 2007-07-17 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
There was something oddly familiar about this situation. Perhaps it was the bar, and the people. Yes, something familiar about that, Remus mused, thinking about the sheer number of pubs he'd sat in, usually - not lately - waiting for Sirius Black.

He sat nursing his drink and reading an outdated paper, and heard more than felt his stomach rumble.

[identity profile] muddy-blues.livejournal.com 2007-07-22 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Brian looked up at Adam. "I just got really hungry all of a sudden. You?"

[identity profile] polldancer.livejournal.com 2007-07-26 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
Famine smiled at Brian's comment as he continued into the bar. He hadn't expected his presence to have any effect in this place, really, and was pleased to see a reaction despite not making any particular effort. Not that this sort of thing usually required much of an effort, it's part of who he is. He turned the smile toward Adam. "I'm well, thank you. How are you?"
