While Pepper was talking to Wensley, Adam decided to seek out Brian, just as he'd promised. So he headed to the room diagonally across from his own and knocked lightly on the door. "Brian?"

Adam nodded. He didn't like Famine's work, but he didn't stop him either. Sad as it was, he had an important job to do. That didn't mean Adam had to allow it around the Manor...

"Smooth as it can. I 'spect that means somethin' awful will happen soon." He grinned, looking far too amused by that prospect.

Famine's long since stopped actively trying to effect anyone or anything around the Manor, he knows a losing battle when he sees one. He is what he is, though, and sometimes that has an effect even if he doesn't intend it to.

"Perhaps," he says with an answering smile. "You certainly seem pleased by the notion."

"'s been kinda quiet lately," was the boy's only cryptic response.

"Hmm. Yes, it has." He smiles thoughtfully, as if considering what might be done to remedy that. Probably nothing that Adam would want done anywhere near Tadfield, considering who he is.

Well, it depended on what Sable wanted to do. Starving Adam's friends and neighbors wouldn't go over so well. But marketing dieting books and products on a reasonable scale probably wouldn't be interfered with. It was their choice if they decided to follow the bad advice.

Adam snorted as he came up with a random mental image of Famine at a local fair judging a pie-eating contest with a horrified expression on his thin face. The boy wondered vaguely if there was a personification of Gluttony and quickly shut off the part of his brain that tried to immediately give him the answer. He really didn't want to know.

"Won't last long, though, I 'spect. Have you been on holiday?" he asked politely.

Famine had no intention of trying to starve Adam's friends, he knows better than that and the last thing he wants is a repeat of the fiasco of the Nonpocalypse. It's also fortunate for Famine that he was unaware of what the Antichrist was thinking at that moment. Just the thought of judging an eating contest would probably make him feel ill.

"I have," he says. "With some friends." He glances briefly at Brian out of the corner of his eye as he says it, he's not sure if Brian knows who (what) he is, but if he hasn't Famine is not interested in enlightening him.

Adam nodded. He knew Famine's friends. "Well, that sounds nice," he said, not sure how to or if he even should continue the conversation.
