Time: July 11, 2000
Place: Outside the manor, sunset
Status: Public
Summary: Brian has an evening jog
Brian had moved in several nights ago, and was already feeling better. Being around Adam always made things seem so much more purposeful. Adam was generally a good thing.
As he'd grown up, he'd come to understand a bit more of what happened-- but only a bit. He didn't feel like trying to decipher it all, cos it'd worked out for the best, really.
Despite purpose and faith, Brian wasn't completely satisfied, not yet. He did want things to do. Weekends down at the park wouldn't fill up all his time...
For now, though, he wasn't sure what was to do (perhaps meet this Hugo chap, learn about room service), so he was going on a jog. The manor was beautiful in the sunset.
He should have wondered how Adam'd come to have hold of such a huge house. What was meant by he 'kinda' owned it. But that was a flaw of his, wasn't it? Brian generally didn't wonder much, especially not when it came to Adam. Other things he might show some curiosity to, but not so much. He'd never liked deconstructing the world.
Brian was, in fact, a born follower. This isn't such a bad thing. Followers rarely start wars, and they usually wind up being essential. They can also appreciate beautiful things without asking themselves pesky questions..
He would have said 'wicked,' if he'd had much breath-- the place was full of gardens, though they needed a bit of a trim, and there were woods and a field...
It really was nice, here.

I don't wanna give Wens a tortured past, though. How 'bout he has a pet jaguar from the rainforest and the three pirates hold him for ransom?"

Date: 2006-07-17 02:33 am (UTC)She looked up at Brian, hoping that was all right and he wasn't feeling morbid anymore. "How's that Brian? Think Wensley wants a pet jaguar?"

Much. He burst into a peal of laughter before he could stop himself.

Date: 2006-07-27 07:12 am (UTC)As a maneuver, it failed.
"Adam, Help! Help!"

Date: 2006-07-27 10:54 pm (UTC)"I can't help," he managed to say. "Otherwise she'll come after me. Every boy for himself."

Date: 2006-07-28 04:28 am (UTC)Oy, he was heavy.
"Adam?" she said desperately, being crushed under massive Brian-weight, "what good are you doing just sittin' there?" She looked up at Brian. "Get off me, you, or I'll bite you like when we were on vacation that time!"

Date: 2006-07-28 04:39 am (UTC)Her hand shot out lightning-quick and wrenched a shoe off of Brian's foot. She tossed it to Adam. "You know how it goes! Better run!"

Date: 2006-07-28 04:50 am (UTC)"Since when do you get to stay on the sidelines and watch? You forgotten how to play, or somethin'?" she teased. "Or are you just afraid of Brian now that he's all big and scary?"

Date: 2006-07-28 04:56 am (UTC)He dove for the shoe when it bounced off of Adam's head, rolling with it held tightly to his chest. "Hah!"

Date: 2006-07-28 05:00 am (UTC)"Adam..." She really wasn't sure what she wanted to say about that. Except exactly what was in her head, and she wasn't sure he would respond well to it. "Adam, it's just me and Brian. It's not sides, it's just...." She finger combed her hair out of her eyes, stared at the ground in frustration. "You're not going to hurt anyone, Adam, if that's wot you're worried 'bout. I know you won't."

Date: 2006-07-28 05:02 am (UTC)He dropped it and wriggled his foot into it.
"...woss going on?"

Date: 2006-07-28 02:48 pm (UTC)It was all true. They were Adam's since their first day on the playground. And once you belonged to Adam it was difficult to belong to anyone else. Pepper had figured that out the hard way. "You've forgotten us, haven't you? Maybe you don't think you have, but you have a little. We're not the burden Adam. We're not like everyone else you're tryin' to take care of. If we're not here to make things easier for you, then why are we back? And don't say it's to keep us safe, or I'll punch you in the mouth.

Date: 2006-07-28 07:21 pm (UTC)Well, that was the easy way to make Pepper feel totally guilty. Wait, no, that wasn't fair. Why couldn't he have just asked? Why didn't he ever ask for help, instead of just handling everything on his own? He could have. There was nothing stopping him from doing that. It wasn't her fault that he'd been alone.
"You better get used to it fast," she said carefully, laying back in the grass again. "I still want to hit you, though. You're bloody thick sometimes, dun't care how much responsibility you've been takin' on."

Date: 2006-07-28 08:58 pm (UTC)"Kay. I'll just be thick then." He lay in the grass indolently, then threw a sly look at Pepper. "But even if I'm thick, I'm still the best at ticklin' you..." And Adam pounced on her, tickling her ruthlessly.
