Summary: Anathema arrives at the manor.

Newt was here, she knew. Somewhere inside the huge building that sprawled in front of her, and it had been positively ages since she had last seen him.

Well, technically, that hadn't been her fault. She had won a trip in one of her New Aquarian magazine (she shouldn't have, since she was friends with people that worked on it) and had decided to go alone. She hadn't meant to have stayed in the rainforests of South America for quite so long, but there it was.

Now she was back and looking for work.

She had spotted the ad for this place and was impressed more by the look than anything else. Plus, there was a wide array of things she could do in such a huge building. She was sure she could get a job doing something.

And then of course there was Newt, who was undoubtedly inside. Hopefully. Well, he hadn't been at home when she had gotten back and he would have had to try and find a job of is own.

With a deep breath, she walked around the smoky ruins of what used to be a flying machine of some kind and into Tadfield Manor. She headed straight towards the front desk.

Newt, having recovered from the Bathroom Incident That Did Not Happen, had been called on by Adam to fix a lightbulb in the lobby. In hindsight, his ladder-placement skills hadn't exactly been up to scratch - it seemed to be causing some sort of optical illusion, whereby people thoguht there was plenty of room between it and the desk, right up until they tripped over it. He'd just managed to get a firm grip on both the lightbulb and the screwdriver, when there was a resounding crash and he found himself without a ladder.

Said object was lying on the ground at the feet of a figure that would be familiar if Newt wasn't, at that moment, rather busy hanging from the ceiling by a lightbulb.

Why me? Why is it always me? He thought resignedly.

"Er. Help?"

"Oh, thanks," Newt said gratefully, stepping back onto the ladder and releasing the lightbulb carefully, "I really should- ...Ana?"

"Do you- I- you just- it's- rainforest- Ana!" Newt finally settled on, practically falling off the ladder and into her arms. "I thought- you weren't meant to come back until next week?"

"Oh. Um. Good!" Newt said, relaxing into her embrace. He always felt marginally less clumsy when she was around. "I think they need a doctor, or something."

"Well, you know. I'm pretty sure they'll settle for what they can get, the amount of stuff that happens around here would scare off anyone but you." Newt grinned at her. "Adam's the bloke to see - you remember Adam," he added, as though he was reminding Anathema about John from the tennis club, two kids and breeds tropical fish.

"Right. See you." Newt said, feeling a little dazed. Then a thought occurred to him. "By the way!" He called after her. "You remember the room we had last time you were back here, right? 311?"
