Setting: Draco's rooms
Status: Private (Draco, Harry)
Summary: Draco waits for Harry, and makes some last minute changes to his rooms.

Draco lounged lazily on his couch, and noted that it was 10 o'clock. Potter would be here in under an hour. The spare bed was ready in his room, so Draco allowed himself to daydream. There were all sorts of angles to be played here. His fantasies ranged from turning Potter over to the Dark Lord in exchange for a great reward to helping Potter defeat the Dark Lord (who Draco had to admit was a shockingly boorish and creepy fellow) to convincing Potter into taking place in athletic competitions which Draco would spectate at.

Draco wondered where the last fantasy came from, but didn't think about it very much. As he looked around the flat, his eye was caught by a magical moving sculpture on the bookcase, as well as a number of spellbooks. He looked at his watch, and saw that Potter would be here in five minutes. Oh, hell. He grabbed all of the obviously magical items on the bookcase, and scanned the room for more giveaways. He picked up the magical plant growing by the windowsill, and dumped all of the magical candies into the trash. The flying carpet in the living room made him pause, but he figured that no harm could come of it since it was under furniture and Potter was unlikely to inadvertantly start it up.

After managing to drag his suitcase up the stairs - the lift being temporarily out of order - and along the corridor Harry finally arrived outside Draco's room. Well, here he was, ready to start a new phase in his life with a new friend. Feeling aprehensive yet excited he knocked three times on the door. He did hope that things were going to work out.

Harry looked around the room. It was certainly far grander than he'd expected. Clearly being a demonic intern had its perks.

"A drink of water would be nice," he said, suddenly aware of how dry his mouth was.

As his eyes scanned half-nervously, half-delightedly around the room he spotted what seemed to be a stone bowl emitting a most peculiar swirling light, on top of the dresser. There was something almost hypnotic about it and he was a once seized by an almost paralysing sense of deja vu. It makes me feel rather pensive, he thought, before immediately questioning why the word pensive had sprung to mind. "Draco," he said, as he placed his suitcase on the floor, "what's that thing on there, is it one of those novelty lamps?"

"Thanks," said Harry, taking the glass and proceeding to gulp down half the contents. "Where should I put my things?" he asked, gesturing to his suitcase. "I've tried not to bring too many unecessary items, but I couldn't quite bring myself to throw away the things they found me with after the accident. Well, all of the things apart from the broom, of course. I couldn't quite imagine any circumstances under which I'd need one of those to sweep-up with, not when there are so many vacuum cleaners around here."

At the mention of it 'getting rather late' Harry couldn't help but yawn. It had been a long, exciting and ever so slightly nervewracking day and he was just about ready to fall asleep.

He opened his suitcase and removed the slightly battered-looking teddy bears that one of the motherly middle-aged hospital visitors had given him during his stay at Tadfield General, the polished stick he'd been found clutching at the scene of the accident and the golden cup with the badger motif that had been discovered resting beside him.

"Do you mind if I put this on the dresser?" he asked poiting to the cup. Hoping that Draco would not think badly of him he placed the two teddy bears on the pillow of his new bed and began to rifel through his case in search of his pajamas.
