Date: Sometime mid-October
Status: Private - Shadow, Bast. Complete.
Setting: Outside Bast's room, then hallway, then... somewhere else
Summary: Bast and Shadow go shopping. (to be continued in Outside Omens after a bit)
Shadow was nervous.
This was sort-of ridiculous; after all, it was a shopping trip. The worse thing that could happen was that he would make the wrong comment about a skirt or something and she would get annoyed with him. Although he imagined Bast had enough self esteem not to care very much if he tripped over himself trying to tell her that no, that dress did not make her butt look too big.
Still, it was somewhat anxiously that he knocked on her door. They’d set the date a while ago, after some wavering on Shadow’s part about being busy with the bar and such. Which was stupid, but there it was.
He fidgeted with his hands, stopping himself from going for a coin in his pocket. He wished suddenly that he had something to give her. But that was silly- it wasn’t like this was a date, or anything, right? After all it had been his idea, shouldn’t he know what was going on?

Date: 2007-03-04 12:33 am (UTC)One good thing about human form is that your tail didn't twitch nervously when you didn't want it to.

Date: 2007-03-04 11:27 am (UTC)Bast didn't quite understand Shadow's reluctance to be anything more than human, but she respected it - mostly. She laughed, not unkindly. "'Shopping centre'? You going local, sweetie?"

Date: 2007-03-04 12:30 pm (UTC)"Do you have any idea about the sort of thing you're going to want?" he asked as they started down the stairs. I mean, it's been a while since you've needed human clothes, huh?"

Date: 2007-03-04 02:14 pm (UTC)Bast shrugged. "I don't know. A few nice tops, couple of skirts. Oh, and some of those skinny trouser-things I've seen that red-headed human girl in -
those blue ones? They look comfy."

Date: 2007-03-06 08:18 am (UTC)"Pepper? Jeans?" Shadow hazarded. "Sounds good." And not too complicated. Shadow would be able to help her out with fashion as far as jeans and skirts went, anyway. Although women seemed to have something of a instinct for those sorts of things. "Yeah, jeans are great. You'll like them."

Date: 2007-03-07 04:19 pm (UTC)"Yep, yep, and yep." She nodded happily as they existed the manor, and took a deep breath of fresh air, then exhaled.
"I like england, I've decided," she annouced, as though he had asked a question. "Lots of old secrets the place still won't give up. Didn't like getting here, though. Did the stray kitty thing and snuck onto a plane."

Date: 2007-03-09 10:03 pm (UTC)Shadow made a sympathetic face. "Ugh," he said . "That sounds really unpleasant. Were you in cargo? I always felt bad for the animals who got stuck down there in cages."

Date: 2007-03-09 10:20 pm (UTC)She nodded, agreeing. "It's really dumb, that humans think cats and dogs should be treated like that. It's like the worse sort of snobbery - treating someone like they're lower than you just becuase they look and speck differently. A cat could beat a human in IQ anyday."
But then Bast smiled. "I wasn't down there, though. This little girl knew kitty wanted to go for a ride and put her in her hand luggage before mommy noticed. She keep sneaking me bits of her meal. Something to tell her kids, maybe. Nice girl."

Date: 2007-03-19 12:36 pm (UTC)Shadow quite liked flying, actually, and his experiences were usually very pleasant. But, as with all traveling, things like that did tend to come up from time to time.
By this time they'd reach the end of the manor driveway. "The bus stop's that way," he told her, pointing off to the left.
((Shall we move 'er to Outside Omens and pick up their adventures already at the shopping mall?))
