Mictain stared at the dog. Apparently it wanted a reward of some kind.

He really was not in the mood for rewarding dogs. On the other hand, failing to give a reward might affect negatively the dog's motivation to deliver the letter. And he really wanted Raphael to get the letter in question.

Thus, he conjured a cookie, wondering how a skeleton dog would eat it, and threw it at the creature. "There. Now, run off."
