War crossed back to the bed to lean against the rail at the foot of it, facing him.
"I think you're right - Uriel is telling the truth, or at least she thinks she is." She shook her head slowly. "I just can't believe Pestilence would have left her - I can't understand why. It doesn't ring true, somewhere. I know that, as far as he's concerned, he slept with an unknown woman fairly soon after he left - Uriel in dusguise - but that doesn't put him at fault...especially if he felt rejected..."
