"Yeah, but how did they decide what needed to happen or not?" asked Adam. "I know you don't know, but nobody gets to make that choice for anyone else." He conveniently ignored the fact that in some ways he was doing the same thing. At least he never pretended that he was doing it because it was the right thing to do or that it was for their own good. And he tried to let free will change the composition of the picture as he went. The original plan had changed many times already to account for it.
Adam shugged. "Seemed like a good idea at the time?" He grinned, turning it into a joke. "But I'm not givin' up. There's stuff that needs to be done and these people need to do it. I just guide them along a bit."
He smiled. "Well, I'm glad you're here. If you can accept the impossible, you'll be fine."
