Crowley was silent while the food arrived and only spoke after the waiter withdrew. "I'll keep my eyes open, but I can't promise anything," he said, taking up his knife and fork to cut into his entree. It smelled good, at any rate.
"Shouldn't there really be three people working at the front desk? Doesn't give you or that drawn out guy any free time. And every time he's sick, which seems to happen rather a lot, you have cover for him, too. Maybe if you had someone else working the desk as well, it'd give you an hour or two to devote to the library everyday." He stabbed the piece of meat he'd cut off and gestured with it. "Just because it has never had anyone to look after it doesn't mean it doesn't need someone to look after it. The cataloguing alone could take you months if you only worked an hour a day on it. Then you get to work with books, and feel useful at the desk all while giving someone else a job, working shorter hours, and spending more time with me." The latter was the most important, of course, but he mentioned the others just to get the angel to agree.
