Mictain watched calmly as Pestilence turned around to face him. He took note of how the horseman made sure to stay between Uriel and him at all times like a protective shield. So it was like that, then, eh?
Pestilence's words, however, made him angry -- partly because it reminded him of his fears. No, Lucifer would not be happy with him. However, the Morningstar would definitely love to get his claws on him for several reasons, the most important of them being that little casting-out-of-Heaven thing from before the time. Lucifer was one of the two reasons while he still stayed in the Manor, the other being Raphael. Adam was the only one who could keeep Lucifer away from him now.
"My dealings with Lucifer are none of your business," he growled, an evil glint in his red eyes. "And I'd truly like to see you teach me anything. You're no good for that kind of a thing -- in fact, you're no good for anything, period. Except for seducing angels, it seems. You'd make a fine demon, you know. Most probably you will once you lead the oh-so-pure Uriel to Fall."
He saw Uriel flinching behind the horseman and went on. "He's His favourite, you konw. Has the most Presence to him. And if I've something learnt during my existence, its that He Above is a jealous god. You can't give your heart to anybody but him." His voice was now bitter, and he weighed his words more carefully. This hit rather close to home.
"But then again, that is probably what you want to achieve anyway. Uriel's a nutcase even as it is; you must be just itching to have him break completely. I can't even imagine how well you must get off at that thought. I mean, an ill angel. And such a powerful one, too. He's whoring himself to you for just a bit of your attention, and while using him on your advantage you can all the time drive him closer to the complete breakdown."
