Mr. Wednesday's Arrival

Date: August 10th, 1999
Setting: Lobby of Tadfield Manor
Status: Public
Summary: Mr. Wednesday arrives at the Manor

Upon receiving Sister Mary's letter, he packed his belongings and made his way to the Manor. This place was different, he thought as he winked at the cab driver. It smelt of Power and Love and even more interestingly, Divine Personages. This job might prove to be more entertaining then at first glance.

He straightened his cream-colored jacket and adjusted his tie before entering the lobby. The lobby was vacant, asides from some potted plants that appeared to be nervous. He walked up the desk and rang the bell. "Hello?"

The bell startled Sister Mary and she nearly spilled the little glass of sherry that she had just poured for herself. Hastily, she downed it and then hoped that whoever was waiting for her wouldn't be an angel. Oh, they'd never say anything about it -- hell, she'd even hired an angel to bartend, hadn't she? But they'd look, all the same. And she really didn't feel like contending with any of those judgmental gazes, thankyouverymuch.... on the other hand, if it was Belial, one of her servers, he'd probably give her one of the saucy winks that made her swoon and then refill her glass with not much more than a nod.

And she really didn't need that, either.

When she finally walked out of the little office, smelling rather strongly of alcohol, she almost tripped in surprise anyway. Yes, this was no angel and certainly no demon. No, no, this was something else altogether. She could feel it.

"Yes?" she hiccuped and then blushed.

"Can I -- CanIhelpyou?" she finished in a rush.
