Pestilence glanced at the mantle clock. He'd been there over an hour. Well, what did he expect? Uriel had made it very clear what he thought about the horseman at their last meeting. Why had Pestilence even bothered with it at all? Falling in love was a stupid undertaking. Better to put one's efforts into more worthwhile endeavors, such as work. It had been several hundred years since the last serious outbreak of plague, and SARS had been out of the picture for a while now, too. Time to get busy!

Not since that damned little moldy petri dish had Pestilence felt so depressed and unmotivated.

Letting out a pained sigh he got up out of the chair and started walking towards the doorway. He had been a fool to even imagine that Uriel would come.

Imagine his surprise, then, when he he all but ran right into the angel as he walked through the door.
