Date: November 1, 1999
Status: Public
Setting: Just Outside the Manor
Summary: Famine and Pollution return to the manor after their ride. We highly encourage all Horsepersons and Former Horsepersons to join us and make fun of/congratulate the happy couple.

By the time he reached the manor, Pollution was still high as a cloud. Emotionally, anyway. The whole way back, he had been cuddled up close to Famine. Everything about him just completely distracted Pollution, from his sent to the feel of his jacket against his cheek. It was wonderful. But like all great things, eventually this too had to come to an end and, despite taking the long way back, the trip was too short of Pollution's liking. He would just have to forget to ever get his bike fixed. He'd rather be ride with Famine then alone, anyway.

When the bike pulled to a stop, he reluctantly slid off and stretched, pulling muscles sore from lack of use. A peice of paper, rolling in the wind, caught his eye for a moment. When it was out of sight again, he blinked and turned to face Famine, waiting for him before they were to go inside. He smiled. "We should do that again."

Pestilence noticed the glance but looked away quickly, making another "I like everything" cocktail in addition to his own, for the kid. He slid it over to Pollution with a meaningful glance. "Cut from the same cloth, kid." Hefinished his glass in one long draught and poured another mixture.
"And for you, old boy." He corked the bottle of wine and poured some for Famine. "Its been a while since the last time we shared a drink, eh?"
"And what about you, DEATH? Wine, Everything, of I coud mix you a nice "flatliner #2."

Famine claimed the stool next to Pollution and accepted the glass from Pestilence. "Thanks. Yes, it has, and longer since all five of us have been in one place. When was the last time...World War Two I think? Or was it 'Nam?" He grinned and motioned to the doorway with his glass. "And this time War didn't even stay long enough for a drink."

Pestilence downed his other drink. Already the lonliness was feeling less present. Thank someone for alcohol. "Hmmm, pretty sure it was 'nam. Good times. Remember the napalm, Pollution? It was so cute the way you squealed as all the trees burst into flames." He resisted the urge to scruff up the young horseman's long white hair in a fatherly gesture. "You were still such a little bugger back then. And of course, you and I were already there before the war began, Schwartzy." He tipped his glass at the robed figure. The glass shook in hands that already felt the heady poisons entering his bloodstream. "And that goes without saying for you too, DEE."

I AM EVERYWHERE intoned DEATH. He instantly regretted it, now was not the time to be egotistical, even if it was true. He took the glass the Pestilence gave him.

I HAD MY WORK CUT OUT FOR ME THAT TIME, he added, the memories coming back. Whether in the past or present, people always seemed to want to murder each other. It was truly insane, their lives were short enough anyway, but it seemed to amuse the other Horsepeople.

YOU'VER CERTINALY COME A LONG WAY, POLLUTION, said DEATH, turning towards him, remembering Pollution's grime covered face with his hands clapsed together in supreme happiness at some oil spill or litter on the street.

Cradling the glass in his bony hands and gulping it down, he said, LET US IMBIBE LARGE AMOUNTS OF ALCOHOL.

Famine smiled at the memory, Pollution really had been adorable back then. Not that Famine didn't find him adorable now, but in an entirely different way. Without really thinking about it he wrapped an arm comfortably around Pollution's shoulders. Had he thought about it he might have been surprised at how natural it already felt, instead he just enjoyed having Pollution close.
