Brian forced himself not to move and try to catch the man -- Loki, he thought, and ohbuggerfuck -- because when Loki actually focused on him, he looked wild, and Brian was reminded of what his mother had once told him about cornering injured animals. He looked pleadingly at the woman -- apparently a woman, anyway -- hoping for some sort of cue. He wanted to help, really.
