"Pepper..." Adam could feel her pain. He sighed and wrapped his arms carefully around her in a hug, but one easily breakable if she didn't want it.
"There's no such thing, you know. As normal. Even if you weren't here with all angels and gods and things. Even if none of it were true. There's no one right way for everybody." He knew that most of what he said wasn't getting through, but he concentrated on his tone of voice and contracted his aura around just the two of them, making it as warm and comfortable as he could short of manipulating her feelings. Adam looked over at Wensley hoping the other boy might have some ideas.
