Of course, she suspected Bast might be willing to help, and she should be able to find baby sitters -- if Azirahale wasn't going to hate her forever because of Loki's lie -- but it wasn't the same as actually having somebody with her raising the child. There wasn't going to be a father, but an uncle might be enough.
