She did her best impression of being miserable. Although she often was quite talented at being miserable, she wasn't managing very well now. She was too happy for that.

"Oh, don't say that," she said, shivering. "It's not too funny when I happen to know that some of the Manor inhabitants would probably be happy to eat a whole child." A quick glance around, however, reassured her that none of the more unpleasant demons was present.
