Still reeling from the kiss and well aware of where Ellie's thoughts were going as she blew (oh dear... me?) on the noisemaker, Adam was in no condition to have Pepper suddenly so near. Uncomfortable at the sudden proximity, his eyes focused on hers, sharing hope, fear and a disconcerting uncertainty. Until she squirted him in the face with a water gun. After a second of spluttering, the world righted itself and settled back into familiar patterns.
