Loki hadn't had his own Gameboy since the one he'd won in a card game against a twelve year old in Minneapolis had died on him four years ago and he remembered the toy fondly now, though back then it had begun to get boring. Toys were wonderful things for a while, but they weren't alive. The rat, if it ever showed up again, was an even better gift.

"You're the best, Ellie," he called after his departing visitor. "Oh, and when you find Gabriel, don't mention the rat!" Medical personnel tended to have funny ideas about what to do with animals.

For a moment he considered also warning Ellie against telling Anathema that he'd had two visitors today, but the nurse clearly wasn't in the hospital wing so the chances of Ellie running into her were slim.
