Gabriel wasn't quite sure what had happened between his wandering into the bar and now, when he'd been sent out to find Adam. He'd been met with a flurry of 'my dear's as Aziraphale explained that they were putting together a surprise party for the Antichrist (Gabriel really should know better to think he'd seen everything in six thousand years, because he was constantly being proved wrong). The principality had then requested that he find the boy and tell him there was something that required his attention, and when he'd blinked at the other angel, Constantine had piped up with, "Well, you are supposed to be the Messenger, aren't you?"
Like he'd never heard that one before. Prat.
But he managed to keep a straight face* as he approached the Antichrist walking with the rather excitable boy the angel had run into in the hallway. "Adam, there you are," he said hurriedly, revealing nothing, which was easy, since he knew very little anyway. "There's something (http://community.livejournal.com/neutral_omens/105658.html?thread=1992634#t1992634) you should see inside..."
* 'Straight' may not be the best word to describe Gabriel, but one gets the point.
